Mike & Patti Smith

Mike & Patti SmithMike and Patti became managers of the Lunenburg Arms in July 2008. They moved here from Digby where they managed the Coastal Inn Digby for two years. They both have over 20 years experience in hotel management, including a number of years with the Maritime Inns and Resorts .

Mike grew up in Glendale, Cape Breton and attended school in Port Hawkesbury and later University College of Cape Breton. Patti grew up in Greenwood, NS and attended West Kings HS and later Mt St Vincent University. Mike and Patti met while they were both working at the Maritime Inn Port Hawkesbury.  In 2002 they travelled, along with 17 friends, to the Dominican Republic to be married.

They first started curling in the fall of ’08, taking the introductory course offered by the LCC. They joined the club for the winter ’09 season.  Unfortunately, Patti fell on the ice and broke her hand (see photo) and is sidelined for the rest of the ’09 winter season.

Mike & Patti have a pre-school age son and are currently moving into a house on Green Street.

Mike is a member of the Board of Trade and Destination Bluenose Coast. Patti is a member of South Shore Women in Business.
