Pat & Barbara Oldfield

Pat & Barbara Oldfield

(Pat & Barbara at home - one of Pat's oil paintings on the wall at the right)

Pat and Barbara joined the LCC in’95. Having no prior curling experience, they took the club’s newly offered lessons under Stephen Rhodenizer and Jim and Heather Eisenhauer. Pat’s team recently won a division of the ’08 Curl-For-A-Cause Bonspiel.

The Oldfields, originally from Halifax, moved to the Lunenburg area in ’94 after building their very comfortable house in Middle LaHave with a panoramic view of the river. They had previously lived in Dartmouth for 20 years and Ottawa before that. They have 5 adult children and 9 grandchildren ranging in age from 5 to 20.

Pat worked as a federal Civil Servant and Barbara worked for the Nova Scotia Research Foundation.

They enjoy traveling. In ’07 they took a Mediterranean cruise (Rome to Venice via the Greek isles) and in ’06 they enjoyed a Sydney to Auckland via Tasmania cruise. They have also cruised the Panama Canal and Alaska and they have toured Ireland.

In the summer they spend some time at their lake cottage on the Eastern Shore. They also keep busy golfing, maintaining their two properties and volunteering with “Meals on Wheels”. Pat continues to carve birds when he can find the time.

Pictured with Pat and Barbara are their five adult children (L to R) Michael, Tim, Jane, Karen & Susan.
