Ray joined the LCC in 1958. He retired after working as a supervisor at National Sea meal plant. He was born in Lunenburg and now lives in Martins Brook on Hermans Island Road. He started curling at age 58 but played hockey and skated during earlier times. He has curled for the Legion and the Fire Department. He keeps busy building wooden lighthouses of many different sizes and carved wooden ducks. He also has started constructing wooden boat models.
