Scott moved to Lunenburg in 1986 and joined the curling club shortly thereafter. He is married to Trish Topshee and they have raised three daughters in the town of Lunenburg. Scott was a strong advocate of the school system in Lunenburg where he served as School Trustee and was also the first Chairman of the Lunenburg Schools Advisory Council, a position he held for many years. Scott coached the Sr. High School Girls Basketball team for 5 years.
Scott was born and raised in London, Ontario but moved to Yarmouth at the age of 17. Scott attended Acadia University and went on to obtain his Industrial Engineering Degree from the Nova Scotia Technical College in Halifax. He worked in Truro and Dartmouth before moving to Lunenburg.
Scott manages an architectural woodworking company which produces custom millwork and cabinets for schools, hospitals, and other institutional and commercial venues. He has served on the Board of Directors of the Construction Association of Nova Scotia (CANS), the Architectural Woodworking Manufacturers Association of Canada (AWMAC), the Mahone Bay Tennis Club, the Bluenose Golf Club and the Lunenburg Curling Club.
Scott enjoys skiing and curling in the winter and golfing, kayaking, and hanging out with his family in the summer.
