Kay Genge

(Kay with some of her many trophies for Bowling, Badminton & Curling - March 2008)

Kay joined the LCC in 1973, at age 50, and won an award for an 8-ender in her very first year. She has participated in many Senior Club Bonspiels and has been on winning teams many times. Recently, her team won the 2007 Sophia Petrony Memorial trophy.

Kay has always lived in Mahone Bay and has spent the last 60 years in her current house. Her son, Donald, lives next door and is retired from Michelin. She has two grandchildren. For a while she and her late husband, Bob, ran a livestock farm on the outskirts of Mahone Bay. Bob died in 1995. His working years were spent in a Halifax ship yard. Kay worked for a while at the local Irving station.

Besides curling, Kay has been active in badminton and bowling. Currently, she enjoys knitting, TV (especially watching the Brier), and spending summer days at her cabin at Mushamush.
