Diane started curling in Windsor, NS, in 1983 and joined the LCC in 2005. While living in Cornerbrook, NL (1987-88) Diane’s mixed team, on which she played lead, won the NL Provincials and represented NL at the nationals in North Bay, Ont. "North Bay was a wonderful host and it was a great experience."

Diane was born in Sherbrooke, Quebec. Her father was in the armed forces, so the family moved from Sherbrooke to Calgary; to Valcartier, to Pointe Claire and to Farnham, (all in Quebec); to Base Borden in Ontario; to Fredericton, Oromocto in New Brunswick.

Diane’s mother’s maiden name was Naas. Mom grew up in Lunenburg and her family was here. The family spent many great summers in Lunenburg while her father was posted overseas. He passed away in 1968 and Mom moved back to Lunenburg with 5 youngsters in tow. "Good thing we were so well behaved. J "

Diane earned a Bachelor of Science in Phys. Ed. from St Francis Xavier University in Antigonish, NS. She taught physical education for 3 years at Windsor Regional High School. She took a year off to travel throughout Canada and the US and joined Royal Bank in 1978, spending 27 years with the company. She took a year off in 1990 to travel throughout Europe, Australia and New Zealand. She had a lot of great travel opportunities over the years through involvement in sports. Trips to the US with the Canadian National Field Hockey team; across Canada, Scotland and Bermuda with the NS Field Hockey team; across Canada with the Canada Winter and Summer Games and National Tournaments for basketball, field hockey, broomball and softball.
   
Her current interests include enjoying retirement, taking the dog for a daily walk, reading a good book, golfing and sailing as much as possible.
