Juniors
This weekend (Feb 3, 2012) a group of girls from our junior program won the Western Regional High School Championships for Park View Educations Center. The team consisted of Skip, Kate Mosher; Mate, Brooke DeMone; Second, Megan Bustin; Lead, Melissa Parks; and Fifth, Beth Fancy. The girls will go on to the Provincials March 22 – March 24that the Mayflower Curling Club.
2012 LUNENBURG YOUTHSPIEL February 17, 18, and 19, 2012
THE LUNENBURG JUNIOR CURLING PROGRAM WILL BE HOSTING ITS ANNUAL LUNENBURG YOUTHSPIEL ON FEBRUARY 17, 18, AND 19, 2012
THIS IS A GREAT CHANCE TO INTRODUCE NEW CURLERS TO COMPETITIVE CURLING. ALL CURLERS MUST BE HAVE BEEN BORN AFTER MARCH 31, 1996. AND THE TOTAL AGE OF THE TEAM MUST BE 54 YEARS OR UNDER AS OF MARCH 31, 2012.
THE FREE GUARD RULE WILL BE USED FOR THIS EVENT. THIS BONSPIEL IS INTENDED TO PROVIDE PARTICIPATION SO FIFTH PLAYERS ARE WELCOME AND WILL BE ALLOWED TO ENTER THE GAME AFTER ANY COMPLETED END.
A COACH OR CHAPERONE WHILE IN THE CURLING CLUB MUST ACCOMPANY EACH TEAM. THIS BONSPIEL MAY START AT 6.00 P.M. ON FRIDAY FEBRUARY 17, 2012. IF YOUR TEAM CANNOT PLAY ON FRIDAY EVENING PLEASE ADVISE ON YOUR ENTRY FORM.
EACH TEAM WILL PLAY AT LEAST THREE GAMES, WITH THE FINAL DRAW BEING MADE AFTER ALL THE ENTRIES ARE RECEIVED. PLEASE ADVISE COACHES AND CURLERS IN YOUR JUNIOR PROGRAM SO THAT ANY INTERESTED CURLERS CAN HAVE A CHANCE TO PARTICIPATE.
THE COST FOR THIS BONSPIEL IS $80.00 PER TEAM AND THE ENTRY CHECK SHOULD BE MADE PAYABLE TO THE LUNENBURG JUNIOR CURLING PROGRAM. ENTRIES CAN BE SENT BY E-MAIL TO RESERVE A SPOT BUT PAYMENT IS REQUIRED BEFORE THE TEAM CAN BE ACCEPTED INTO THE DRAW.

March 15-18 Under 11 Bonspiel at CFB Halifax Club

This event will be held at the
CFB Halifax Club March 15-18. Last year they had 60 teams competing.
Since 4 of the 6 kids attending for LCC will be moving up to Junior
next year, this provides a great opportunity for them to see what it
is like in the 'real' curling world.
